I do believe I've found the worst TV program ever.
It's even duller than Steve Irwin Gets a Knee Operation on Animal Planet. It's THE HOLY ROSARY WITH MOTHER ANGELICA AND THE NUNS OF OUR LADY OF THE ANGELS MONASTERY on EWTN, the Catholic channel. A mother superior mumbles part of the Rosary (today it's the Scourging on the Pillar, sounds lovely whatever that is) and a group of nuns chant along in a monotone. Riveting stuff. While the religious life may be full of beauty and meaning, this program conveys This is the dreariest, suckiest way of life on the planet.

1. LMAO, turn it OFF!!!!
I had 12 years of Catholic school. Enough is ENOUGH!!!! From what I remember of the rosary, there were the 12 joyful mysteries, the 12 sorrowful mysteries and another 12 mysteries who name I totally forget. Did I mention that I am a recovering Catholic?

5. Yeah, back to the knee operation.
I've always wanted to see the inside of Steve Irwin's knee. In all fairness a guy in his line of work needs to be put back together on a regular basis, but did he have to make a TV special out of it? What's next, Steve Irwin Takes a Dump in the Bush?

9. Lacking cable and rarely watching TV, I have not seen Steve Irwin.
But wouldn't "Steve Irwin Takes a Dum OH Bush" seem better?

Steve's zoo is about 15 minutes drive from where I am now, and he's always there during school holidays :-)

3. Well at least
the Nuns don't purposly expose their gold watches and sit on golden throne type chairs and wear heavy make-up with big hairdos.

6. Which show is that?
Is it on your local cable access? We have some pretty weird talk shows on Chicago cable access.

4. It gets better
I've seen that episode--ninjas bust into the studio and there is a cool numchucks fight. Those cloistered nuns can bust a move.

No wait, that's a different ep. THIS one has the helicopter and car chase.

10. I have to confess
I cleaned up at the Dean Meetup at Bar Louie a couple months ago. When I unhooked my laptop from the TV I turned it back to EWTN. So here I am sitting in a bar enjoying a post-meetup drink while the Holy Rosary show is on. After about 5 minutes a waitress pointedly turned it back to a sports channel.

12. I love that show!
Ha. Mother Angelica is so campy. I love how she tries to sell everyone bad overpriced stuff (kind of like QVC). Since when did the church get into the business of selling overpriced goods to the masses? Hmmm. <insert sarcasm here> Poor thing had Bell's Palsy at one time and I felt so bad, I couldn't enjoy it without feeling guilty. It was then I watched Steve's knee surgery!
I"m still waiting on the Jesus on Black Velvet to arrive!

Thank goodness there's nothing in our ancestral history that rivals that type of boredom (snicker). Hungarians had a novel method for converting their kinsmen to Christianity: Our first Christian king, King Steven (St. Steven), converted the fledgling nation to Christianity, but had to do so at the cost of his brother and father. Not sire what he did to his brother, but killed his father by having molten gold poured in his ears (they traditionally used lead for the peasants). Now, THAT would be fun TV!

23. Ya know, I've seen that once, and I kind of like it.
I pray the rosary regularly, and it's nice to pray along with someone else. The rosary isn't supposed to be a rollicking good time. It's about introspection and reflection on the life of Christ.

24. I have always liked Mother Angelica
I used to be responsible for the TV listings for several satellite guides. EWTN was one of my channels and they were unfailingly pleasant and cooperative when I called them with questions. Of course, American Exxxtasy was also a pleasure to deal with. They only showed movies late at night and were always ready with a joke when I called. These were two favorites of mine to call! LOL!:D

I would take Mother Angelica any day over those people hurling. They are Bush voters, too, no doubt.
