So what's your view on The Passion now?

I sort of figured it was anti-semitic from the beginning for a few reasons:

1. It's a passion play, for crying out loud.

2. The little Jewish children morphing into demons.

3. Gibson's long history of bigotry.

4. Gibson went to great lengths for historical accuracy, including plans to have the whole thing in aramaic. Except for Jesus, who's played by an American gentile.

But I remember the idea of the movie being anti-semitic was the topic of hot debate. Has the recent brouhaha changed anybody's mind?

1. just reinforces that I will never see it.

I have had this battle with several people. They want me to see the movie. I refuse. They say I am being silly. I say it's anti-semitic. Now I have a better leg to stand on, as far as I can see.

2. Then and now: It's a torture/snuff flick. Won't get into

another high profile flick, about which my opinion was similarly controversial and got me severely flamed.

Maybe I am just blind. But I didn't see anything anti-semitic about the movie.
