Important advice: don't leave your mp3 player on pause for long
because you'll wear your hard disk out. :D

1. Thanx!
I do that often with my iPod. Are they expensive to replace?

4. Yeah, you see
being on pause for that long wears a groove into the disk. ;)

3. Hubby says ours is non-volatile solid state, not hard disk.
No moving parts.

Ours turns off if you leave it on pause -- after just a brief period, too.

Did you ruin yours?

6. How do you turn it off if not by pausing?
On the 40GB there is no other way to turn it off but to pause it. Or so I thought.

8. Ooh, I don't know
I can see how that would be a problem. :)

9. I just looked it up and found that you can press and hold the pause button
to turn it off immediately. Didn't know that. Also says that if it's not playing (paused) it turns itself off after a while (which seems to be a couple of minutes).

So, it sounds like maybe you have a good point. Pressing pause and just waiting for it to turn off may be a problem if that's how you always do it. Wild.

11. Easy......
Hold the pause button down on the wheel until the screen goes blank. Takes a few seconds, so be patient.
