Important advice: don't leave your mp3 player on pause for long |
|
because you'll wear your hard disk out. :D

I do that often with my iPod. Are they expensive to replace?

3. Hubby says ours is non-volatile solid state, not hard disk. |
|
No moving parts.
Ours turns off if you leave it on pause -- after just a brief period, too.
Did you ruin yours?

6. How do you turn it off if not by pausing? |
|
On the 40GB there is no other way to turn it off but to pause it. Or so I thought.

I can see how that would be a problem. :)

9. I just looked it up and found that you can press and hold the pause button |
|
to turn it off immediately. Didn't know that. Also says that if it's not playing (paused) it turns itself off after a while (which seems to be a couple of minutes).
So, it sounds like maybe you have a good point. Pressing pause and just waiting for it to turn off may be a problem if that's how you always do it. Wild.

Hold the pause button down on the wheel until the screen goes blank. Takes a few seconds, so be patient.
