2. Yes, I have seen it, and although I thought it was extremely well-made, |

I also thought it was highly unrealistic. I do not believe the world is that cruel and grim and hopeless. The director Robert Bresson was willing to put happy scenes in the first few minutes but not in the rest of the film. He should have put a couple of uplifting scenes later in the film, to relieve the unrelenting negativity and atmosphere of despair. This would have made it a far more realistic depiction life on Earth. Not everything is hopeless despair 100% of the time. I believe that the reason this film is not more popular is because it is a complete bummer, and Bresson failed to realize this while making it. Other than that, I thought it was an exceedingly well-crafted film, almost a textbook of concise, efficient filmmaking.
