1 layer for original image, 11 color layers, each with a layer mask, and 1 adjustment layer to control contrast.

Wow, ya think too blue? Her eyes were waaay "glassy" in the original and I knocked opacity down to like 45% on the layer I had for just those eyes. Probably shoulda tried something other than an overlay layer. I ended up with multiply for her shirt stripes because it didn't trash the shadows with color.
Thanks for the comments!
on edit: horrid spelling

9. I'm thinking of that too. |

Just got a bunch of old WWII posters I scanned in for movie props at work, so I now have somehting to work with.
I tried this one to be "serious", but I love getting wildly creative more.

10. I think you did great. I am, at best, a duffer at photoshop |
|
I have never tried all that adjustment stuff, but I am pretty good at matching up photos to each other, so I tend to avoid it. I am very impressed. I have known art directors at magazines that could not do that.

I appreciate the kind words. Most of my Photoshop time at work is the "easy" stuff...cropping, color corrections, etc. I get an occasional job where I can be a little creative.
My personal pride and joy is doing some work for the boss as a joke "cutting heads" into Catholic "Saint" cards which somehow got spread around and ended up with Tommy Lasorda coming in to have me personally do some for him to pass out to his business pals... "Saint Thomas" was born.

12. Cool, and welcome to DU, btw... |
|
Like I said, I do a few things here and there. Mostly irritants to people, but I have fun doing it, and it keeps my blood pressure lower than watching news.
