Canada photos, part 3: Stanley park sea wall *** dial up warning ***
One evening I went for a short walk along the sea wall around Stanley Park. This is a very popular place for rollerbladers and cyclists.

I saw a barge coming in:

yvr girl told me this bridge was styled on the Golden Gate Bridge:

Somebody has some money. Nice yacht:

A view of the bridge from the other side. I did walk a long way, didn't I:

For good measure, a view from directly beneath the bridge:

I tried to capture the sunset shining on the mountains, but it did not really come out:

I had never seen a black squirrel before:

1. Very nice, thanks... question:
Is that just an optical illusion (the one taken under the bridge) or does the bridge lean a little more one way than the other? I hope this is not a stupid question, but I'm really curious.

2. I think it's the way the light is shining on the cross-braces
so that you only see half of them. The diagonal lines make the bridge look wonky. :)

3. Thanks, that's what I thought, but with all the rain up there ...
...I wondered if maybe they had to make the bridge at an angle for drainage! I get the stupidest ideas, really.

9. Very pretty!
That squirrel is a cute little guy. I've seen blond squirrels, but never black ones. Mostly we get gray ones around here. :bounce:

12. Yeah, most of ours are grey too
They're not native; the native British squirrels are red, but the imported grey ones are taking over. There are few red squirrels left now. :(

15. That's interesting.
I'm almost afraid to ask, but where did the grey squirrels come from?

16. Apparently they were introduced from the USA
between 1876 and 1929. This page has some information on British squirrel life:
