Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter
heard a story this morning on NPR where there seems to be fan-fighting going on over the movies - Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter

maybe I'm stupid, but I don't get why the fighting - I like all three movies for different reasons, have seen them all several times over and will probably see them many many many more times

ennywhoo- just my 2cents

1. I like them all, but lets face it. The Harry Potter lot are gonna lose.

I mean, they're just a bunch of kids, I could take 'em easy.
;-) (poor attempt at irony)

5. Not all a bunch of kids!

The Harry Potter movies are easily my favorites out of the bunch, but I don't understand why it's necessary to fight over this. They (with the exception of, IMO, Star Wars), great movies. I think it's like comparing apples and oranges.

On edit: I'm talking about the new Star Wars. The original ones aren't bad.

2. welcome to geekdom
where my fantasy is better than your fantasy, and I'll spell out why in tangible terms that would make a lawyer proud...you ought to see some of the usenet newsgroups...I think there's an actual newsgroup where people argue Star Wars vs. Star Trek

3. That is silly
Fighting over whether Star Wars, Potter or LotR is better as individual movies OR as trilogies, double trilogies, series, whatever.

It is clear that the Star Wars and Potter people should be clubbed to death like baby seals on a beach.

Three flicks to rule them all...

Obviously I just came from seeing Return of the King and I'm already counting the days until the EE comes out. It's a little less than three and a half hours long but you couldn't tell it by me. The only reason I knew time had gone by was that my legs were asleep.

What a great movie.

4. Remind you of anything?
Hmm... silly arguments, attacking one another, all the movies are great, but you can really fight about the minutia....

Nope, lost the thought. ;)
