We're doing Christmas with Dr. John in New Orleans |
|
Well, actually we'll be seeing him at the House of Blues in the Quarter on the 27th. But it makes a fine excuse to spend a few days roaming the Quarter and eating beignets at Cafe duMonde. I can't wait for my usual breakfast of eggs Shannon at Brennan's.
I also plan to leave a little offering for ______ at Marie Leveaux's grave.
What are you doing for the holidays?

Ask him to bring along Rikki Lee Jones, and I might crash the party!

3. Brennan's blows. Man, what a tourist trap. > |
|
OTOH, I envy you if you can stay up late enough for DJ.
We stood in Tipitina's until 1:30 one morning waiting. Gave up -- still missed him by half an hour.

4. I've been doing Brennan's since the 60's |
|
Heck, the whole Quarter's a tourist trap - a brutally exhausting tourist trap. I think that's why I love to visit it every chance I get.
That - and the walkaway cocktail joints with the 44 ounce margaritas...

6. Amen to that -- ditto, actually. It's weirdly liberating > |
|
to walk around with wicked strong bloody marys in your hand...
"The wife" and I just spent our 12th anniversary in the quarter -- including Sunday brunch at Brennan's. We just made sure to be buzzed before we got there...

Is Tipitina's still alive?
Get some crawfish etouffe and fish courtbouillon if you can.
Watch out for the Hurricanes and leave a red cross and a candle at Marie Laveaux's tomb for me and mine. Thanks.

I always leave cigars. The last time I did it, my business was at a critical juncture.
We went public a short while later. I'm now retired!

My best girl friends and I went for our friend's bachelorette party. we had a blast as always! I got the biggest beads of the bunch! he he he ;-)
I loooooove Nawlins... we gals have been going once or twice a year for the past 3 years. If the times I'll never forget were half as fun as the times I can't remember, well I've had some DAMN good times!!!
