I guess the title of my previous post (which is the title of the article cited) wasn't funny enough to grab anyone's attention. Doesn't anyone else think mondegreens are hilarious? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=549231

1. My favorite was a friends child who came home from nursery school |
|
chanting:
Mary, Mary Quite contrary How does your garden grow With silver bells and taco shells And pretty maids all in a row!
When this 4 year old was told that the song said "cockle shells" not "taco shells" she became angry and replied "Miss Karen said its taco shells so its tacoshells!"
I've always had a wonderful mental image of a garden with taco shells blooms on stems!

2. The triplets' mother used to have a special way of singing ... |
|
...one Christmas carol.
Away in a manger, No crib for a bed, The little George Jesus Laid down his sweet head.
Cracked us all up.
