1. How wonderful is that?!!
Just think how much better off you would have been if we'd gotten Gore or Kerry in? :banghead:

Anyway, great news!

Just got home from a genuine kick-ass Dem Club meeting! Even in August, we have great speakers and wonderful cookies from Costco! :hi:

4. I hear you both.....
it has been hard since we moved in our house. Sometimes scary. As long as we make it until the next paycheck. I did feel bad today, for feeling bad about our problems. Hubby's co-worker got a new "used" car, and it broke down and she needs a couple grand to fix it and has no money. I wish I could do something, I'll think of something, even if it's a small gesture. This woman is a single mom, trying to better herself. They wouldn't give her an advance at work. sickening.

7. same thing here
without credit cards, we would be had...we have had a few slip ups, major car issues last year, a few house/well issues this year, and last year...last year was a financial strain...let alone gas, cost of living issues...

With our bank their new policy is...they don't loan anything, unless they got collateral, ...so wehn we ran out of collateral last year, we had to get credits cards...there was no other way for us to deal with some of the issues that popped up...but boy, its impossible to save...the money I had when I did save, is now being used on Gas...our gas bill is now over 200 bucks a month, when it us to be...shit, 25 bucks a week...

10. my first post was to DU...
all about this. we spend $450.00 a month in gas. he commutes 100 miles a day. I had to cut down on groceries. We are managing. He will start car pooling , but only a few days here and there. I'm sorry you had to resort to credit cards, that will be what we will have to do if the gas keeps going up. I have been very sick this week, I know what will now follow, been through this before, and now I'm very tired mentally. I am so mad at myself for forgetting to live for the day, and stop worrying so much. I can't control myself. I feel so bad for everyone else out there too. I'm hoping we'll all make it through.

12. well, the credit cards aren't that bad
we got three cards, and owe a whopping total of 1500 dollars...if I dont' take care of them by february, tax return will(heaven forbid anything else breaking, knock on wood)...

We used the credit cards for gas/food ...all the cash was used on bills...after bills were paid, we would have about 100 bucks afterwards, so about 200 bucks a month for gas/food/clothes...hence the credit cards. Its not like we go on spending spree's...:P Plus, we had one of my wife's relatives, and her son living with us last year...so we were supporting them...last year was a pain.

I honestly don't know how people save, unless they are luck, I mean...not having 50 different things breaking down, or other surprises popping up. Some surprises were property tax increases, and higher insurance prem for the house..it sucks...its like

"save a buck, and then find out you owe 100 bucks"....one step forward, a couple back...:) But its life, I now understand why my parents were on edge a lot when I was growing up...:) I wouldn't trade it for anything though, I do enjoy having our own home, and not answering to any landlord...:)

18. We lost our other house in 03 and we were headed toward
losing this one.....

But, we hunkered down, had no real bad luck and we are finally able to see light at the end of the tunnel....

I wish things were better for you....

13. It's been hard what with having to pay off thousands of dollars
in medical bills and then not being healthy enough to take on more work...

But just these past few months, things have stabized...

No more surprise three thousand dollar medical bills...

No more back taxes....

Only one more credit card...

I feel as if there is a future for the first time in years...

24. How are you?
I'm piled under a mountain of work, but I'm ok; call me insane (especially about Cleveland Sports), but I have a feeling the Browns make the playoffs this year, especially w/ Braylon Edwards, not K2, having a monster year...
