Can we end "Daunte Culpepper is going to change the Dolphins" talk now? |
|
Seriously, did anyone pay attention to Culpepper last year before he got hurt? The Dolphins were probably better with what they had. This team is not going to be better than they were last year.

2. Miami has too many distractions |
|
No sports team will ever win a championship playing in Miami. The players spend too much time at beaches and clubs. That's why places like Green Bay are known as Titletown

3. No dome team will ever win either. Winners play in the snow. |
|
Look at the stats, dome teams and sunbelt teams lose in the playoffs when they go north and play in the weather, consistently.

26. It doesn't help if you have a Manning as your QB either. |
|
You can't blame him though - it's tough to win with both hands around your own throat.

|
He's only been in the league eight years. How many rings did Michael Jordan have at a comparable time in his career?

Oh, and how about the Marlins, who won the Series 3 years ago and now, with the youngest team in the league -- one of the youngest in history -- are in Wild Card contention?

various Miami Hurricanes teams.
I stand by my statement that teams in Miami can't win championships. And I'll keep standing by it until someone presents evidence that I'm wrong, which is unlikely

This guy was horrible last year, yet so many have Miami tabbed as a Super Bowl winner this year because of him? Sorry, he's gotta prove the opposite so far as I'm concerned. Miami is an 8-8 team at most.

As a Steeler fan, I was actually quite happy with Batch's performance last night, which could have been a disaster. As for Culpepper, maybe it was just first game jitters; or maybe it was the Steeler's formidable defense.

But Culpepper has a lot to prove before I'm going to annoint him a Super Bowl QB. Last night did not help.

And the NFL has a history of saying when they get things wrong. They didn't get that wrong. It's over - I think you should get over that one too.

last night the Officials completely missed a pass interference call which would have put the Steelers at 1st down within the 10 yard line. Instead they punted and the dolphin returned it back nearly for a touchdown, and then the Dolphins scored. 14 point swing. Shit like that happens. Good teams step up and then overcome those odds, even if they fall behind. The Steelers drove and then fumbled near the goal line which the Dolphins recovered. Good teams recover from that.
There were a few questionable calls in the superbowl and last night too, but it's part of the game. Was it pass interference? Did he throw the flag? You can overanalyze it all night, but in the end it was plays like Batch's initial touchdown, or throw/touchdown to Heath Miller compared to Culpepper's 2 interceptions in the last 6 minutes of the game, one returned for a touchdown, not to mention Brown's 30 yards rushing, that determine the game.
My 2 cents.
