My COMPLETELY computer illiterate father JUST sent me an e-mail that made me scream.
He joined--

MYSPACE.
And he said he saw my profile. :o

...was basically:
"I don't care what the hell you have on there, but just keep in mind cops and employers can look at it".
The funny thing is, I was planning on deleting all drug/sex/illegal activity references on facebook and myspace because I'm beginning to look for a job in Utah when I graduate-- having a squeaky clean appearance is critical. I'm just a little freaked because he doesn't know I'm bi and I have that listed...:o

It's like, "Mom, it's an iMac. It has only has one button that you'll need, it's on the front of the computer and it GLOWS!"

9. And Hawaii doesn't have a drinking age because it's an island. |
|
"It's a state. You have to be 21."
"Yeah, but it's an island."
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

11. Yeah, my dad was pretty smart. |
|
His side of the family tends to be smart, artistic and with a higher than average incidence of criminal activity. Her side tends to be dumb, boring, and politically conservative (so I don't think the 1st two things are an accident).
I also look and act like my dad. Honestly, if she didn't give birth to me, I wouldn't think I was related at all.

She got the computer for Christmas & has allegedly taken classes on this stuff. This is an actual conversation I had...
Mom: You need to come fix my email. It broke. Me: What do you mean 'it broke?' You can't break gmail. Mom: I don't know what I did but it's broken. I can't get to it. Me: When did it break? Mom: Three weeks ago. Me: Uh...okay, that's weird. Let me see... (Turn on her iBook and click on Mail in the dock. Mail opens & three weeks of emails come in) Mom: Wow! You fixed it! What did you do? Me: Uh...I opened up Mail. You know you can get it by going gmail online, right? Mom: I don't know how to work the internet. I can't get my email online. How did you open up Mail? Me: I clicked on it. Mom: Oh wow. I bet you think I'm really stupid, huh? Me: Actually...er...here, let me just set this up so the program starts up and gets your mail when you turn the computer on. Mom: Thank you. Could you write an email for me? I get them, but I don't know how to reply.
