We can do a vitual leaf peeping.

How are the trees looking in your neck of the woods? Here in central New Hampshire they're about a week from peak.

6. Already started here in Mt. Washington NH area
Reports are due to lots of rain and cool weather, foliage season will be longer this year. That means more of the Blue Wave in buses hitting the area.

8. Aye-up. Standin' in the middle of the rud with cameras stuck
in their faces. Driving the Kank right now is lethal.

For you Flatlanders, the Kank is the Kancamagus Highway aka Rt 112. It runs from Lincoln to Conway and it has some of the most splendid scenery in the state. During foliage it attracts leaf peepers like a stable attracts flies. At best there may be fifty feet of straight flat road on the entire drive. So you're tooling along, round a curve or top a hill and ohshit a bus load of touristas right in the middle of road. They're worse than moose.

10. We're in NWMO
It won't peak out here until about the middle of October, there are some signs, one of our Maples is starting to show signs, it may go early. We need a good frost first and that's about three weeks away.

17. Get a mulching blade for the mower, matcom
It'll chop up the leaves and it's good for the grass.

18. how do you mulch KNEE-DEEP leaves?

yup. i have THAT MANY. stone wall around the back yard keeps EVERTHING in. every year it takes me 5 or 6 weekends to get them all hauled away. 3 HUGE maple trees don't help the situation

can't mulch that many leaves

19. Oh dear.
You do have the worst possible combination. We have six maples along the roadside of our homestead, but no walls. So it's let the wind take care of what doesn't get chopped. Sometimes you just have to look away and whistle.

25. you can mow weekly and bag the chopped leaves?
or have a world class compost pile. That is what we do. If there are more than we can handle compost wise, our recycling service picks up the bags and they go to the city's compost heap and thence to the city parks and gardens (or get sold to gardeners who DON"T have their own compost)

I'd figure two weeks to peak. Or maybe we've got slow trees here.
