Who loves Q&E for straight guy |
|
I love the show. My favorite is the fashion guy. ( He actually looks like one of my friend.) His tips and taste really help me to dress my husband better. Actually, I persuaded my husband to watch the show and now he is also a big fan. This is the best make-over show . ( I watched 'extreme make-over' and hated it. It sickened me.)
So, man or woman, straight or gay, who love the show? Can you answer with your sexual orientation since I am hoping more straight men and women watch the show.
I am a straight, married , woman with one baby girl.

Hetero, married female here with 2 kids. How old's the baby? My youngest is 20 months. :waaaaaaahhhh!!!!:
Did you watch Boy Meets Boy last night as well?

2. Straight single guy, and I think the show's a lot of fun. |
|
A little stereotypical, but a lot of fun. I could use some of their help, actually! At least I can use some new furniture and a re-decoration in here. :D

3. yeah, we need to get a group like that in TX! |
|
(I hear that they only take care of hopeless heteros in NYC).
But damn, to have them get you a new wardrobe, products, and redo your place? Free, from what I understand? Wow!!
Of course, you have to be okay with the fact that, after having perused your underwear drawer, they might comment on whether you've been eating too much Mexican.

Yes, last night, there was this total hottie on. They went through his dirty underwear basket, and evidently found a pair with skiddies. Carson said "hm, too much Mexican?" Poor guy, he must've been HUMILIATED! But, the girl said yes (he proposed), and the fab 5 said he was their best project yet. I'm sure it'll be reaired tomorrow (they tend to repeat themselves a lot). Oops, sorry if I've ruined the ending!

damn, and he's SUCH a keeper! So what if he used to be a stripper? (be sure to watch the show from the beginning!)

Straight guy secure with his sexuality, and others.
Didn't care for the Boy dates Boy show though, and didn't like any other dating reality show either...not as much humor in those.

hit the alert button when you learn I am gay. But I liked the show. I thought it was campy. I don't necessarily go along with all their "fashion"tips, but to each his own. I don't think the straight guy last night was all that hot. I like the first guy they made over. I mean the one who looked like a hog farmer, but after the make over was a really hottie.
I watched the Boy meets Boy show, but it wasn't close caption, so I missed out on what was going on. The one guy I thought was really cute and gay turned out to be straight..BWAAHHHHHHH.
But since you seemed to only want the opinion of your straight peers, I guess I am butting in where I not wanted.

And I agree with you on the fashion tip guy as well. I think I give better fashion tips than he, and I'm female. Go figure.

May be my English was confusing. Not at all. I love to hear from anyone. I am just curious how people with different orientation may have difference in opinion.
I am not interested in 'boy meets boy'. I am not a big dating show fan.

13. Re-ply from a gay guy... |
|
I watched 2 episodes last night...I thought that it would rely on the familiar over-the-top stereotypes - but I think the producers took the high road.
It was nice to see such a diverse representation of gay men. I thought Carson (?) was a bit precious at first but I loved him by the end of the show. My point is: these gay guys are the real thing; I know guys like this (but not quite so bitchy). And aren't they much more interesting to watch than 'Will & Grace'?.
What was really great was the straight guys BECAUSE they were so comfortable -- not a hint of homophobia. Now that's a revelation for 'murkin TV! Loved seeing all the gay/straight boys getting along...that was wonderful.
I was just hooked on seeing the gay/straight dynamic and it was so fun, positive, cool, savvy, etc. Two thumbs up, excellent.
I'm still thinking about the Boy meets Boy show...it seems somehow exploitive to me, but I'm still thinking it over.

hm, I don't think it's any more expoitive than any Bachelor/bachelorette-type show. Guess we'll see as time progresses: do we see them in the hottub? Does he have to kiss everyone? etc.

I agree!! It is nice to see that straigt guys listen to gay guys. Yes Carson may be a bit bitchy but he is so funny. I actually like 'long hair guy with a scary girlfriend' episode. As Carson said 'fear is a great motivater'.
I apologized my English. Somehow, I gave a wrong impression that I want only straight people's opinion. No way, I am just curious the differences.

It is unfortunate they have to play on the classic gay stereotypes, but they do it in an easygoing way. I hope that a few homophobics come across it and can realize that gay people are just like everyone else.
Plus the food guy, WOW does he know his stuff or what? Carson the wardrobe guy makes me laugh the most but I am always impressed by the food guy's knowledge.
OK so the decorator knows his stuff too! I have really liked what he has done.

She wants to call the Fab 5 on me.
I like the show because the guys are FUNNY, and they've got lots of useful nuggets of info.
It's a little Martha Stewart, and little GQ, a little Emerill, and a little Trading Spaces.

Straight, single woman here from San Francisco. I have known guys exactly like each of the Fab 5 -- including a few dozen Carsons! That's one reason I love the show so much - it's like spending time with friends. :)
The last episode was so sweet -- when the guy was breaking down in the engagement tent and the guys are comforting him. And hen the gal took soooo long to answer I too was wondering if she REALLY wanted to say "yes" without having taked about it further.
As for "Boy Meets Boy" I'm not happy with the closet straight guys aspect of it -- I think it adds an element of meanness that I am uncomfortable with. I will probably continue to watch for a few episodes to see how it plays out -- I hope it doesn't turn ugly.
