How come, when someone tells me that I'm mad, but I'm not mad, it |
|
comes close to making me mad?

1. I react the same way to that. I think there are a couple of reasons. |
|
First, the person saying it is judging me, and second, they are TELLING me how I feel, as if they are some kind of Great Diviner, and I'm just to damned stupid to know what I'm feeling. So, if I wasn't mad before, I can get mad at crap like that.

3. That's pretty much the way I feel. As I was thinking about it for the |
|
post, I was wondering though ... am I giving off "mad" signals that I'm not aware of? I'd say 98% of the time, that isn't true though, knowing the situations.

4. I'm backpeddaling from a post I made because apparently I was |
|
the only one seeing the Jesus Camp ad. I was making fun of it, and now I realize there's a way to turn it off. If you turn on your google ads you'll see what I mean.
;) :D

They use the word "mad," but they're not talking about "angry."
Oh shit. I said too much. You're mad AND angry now aren't you? Yes, you are. Don't deny it, I can tell.

5. Well, I admit to being "mad" as in "slightly 'taitched' in the head" |
|
ok, strike that "slightly" bit. :hi:

6. I have what I call my "thinking look" |
|
When I'm thinking deeply about something, I've been told that I look like I'm ready to kill someone. My kids used to ask me, "Mom, are you mad or just thinking?"
Even so, I hate having people judge how I feel without knowing whether that's what I really feel - it's like the people who say, "Smile! It can't be all that bad!" Well, it actually CAN and I may have a perfectly valid reason for being mad or upset or whatever it is they think I am.

7. Ummm...implying that they know more about you... |
|
...than you know about yourself? When what's usually happening is that signals are being misread, or they might be projecting something they're feeling...
Saw a T-shirt that might say it... "I refuse to co-star in your psycho-drama" or something like that...

9. Hehehe that would be a fun tee-shirt. I think one annoying part is |
|
that some people continue to misread someone, year after year.

11. Yeah, and "Can't you take a little kidding?" |
|
I'm not sensitive about being bald. I've been that way longer than I had hair, now. Having hair would just seem unnatural to me.
But... BUT!!!... If you say something about needing sunglasses to cut the glare from my head you better be ready to do battle. And "Hey, I'm just kidding, can't you take a joke" isn't gonna do you any good. I will very carefully explain to you, in one syllable words that I think you MAY be able to comprehend the difference between a joke ("That's where we ALL laugh."), and trying to make fun of someone because of their physical 'difference'.
You're probably the same guy that asks a short person if an elevator smells differently to them. The generic "you", understand. Not you qnr. Yeah, I understand exactly how you feel. :grr:

Insults with a question mark at the end. And it really pisses me off when I say something back to the person, and they get all uppity, and they react as if there is something wrong with ME because I reacted negatively to their insult. :grr:
Mean people suck.

I heard them make comments like that.
