1. is plagiarizing king an option? |
|
his version of 'jump, jive, and wail' was our first dance. a bit tricky for mrs. unblock do to in her wedding dress, but the crowd loved it, they were expecting a slow schmaltzy number, of course!
"aw, he's alright, when he gets drunk he fights all night!"

I absolutely love the mix of big band swing and rockabilly. I have seen him a few times, and he is an incredibly player.
It is easy to look back and see that the Stray Cats was nothing more than HIM and a couple of who cares.
In music everyone is a Plagerizing Wanker. Every song that is written is insprired by some other music.
Cheers Drifter

4. RETRO KING. I hooked brian up with his long time bass player |
|
Kenny Aronson, back in the day... after that Slim Jim dude and him had a falling out.
I miss the rock n roll days.
LOVE brian setzer. His lifelong devotion and passion to the retro sounds is just brilliant. He's never wavered, and has always pressed on with such astounding results.
Very underrated.

5. Not much on his music but I dig his guitar playing... |
|
His solos are amazing. I'll sit through otherwise "blah" songs of his just to hear him solo a little. It's refreshing because even among the swing genre or whatever he is doing now, there's not a lot of great guitar players who solo like he does.
So he's retro. So what. Point to a band who isn't.

Good guitar player. I can take or leave the music that surrounds it. The Professor

13. Two musicians thought he was decent |
|
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Strummer.
Must mean he's got something going for him, wouldn't you think?

I love Brian Setzer's music. When I first bought "The Dirty Boogie," I listened to "Sleepwalk" over and over.
We also purchased his Christmas CD; it's a fresh look at the typical holiday classics.
He recently played in Seattle; I'm only sorry that we weren't able to go and see him.
