Cross post - I saw Keith Olbermann at the Letterman taping today

I posted this on the Olbermann groups just now, but thought you all may be interested in seeing this. . .

I called in for Standby tickets & scored, big time!

While standing in line waiting to be let into the Ed Sullivan theater, the pages were telling us to turn off all electronic devices. No sooner than I'd shut off my camera phone than I see this tall, striking vision in a suit walking down the sidewalk. Yep, it was KO. He didn't have his stage makeup on yet, and his hair au natural, down on his face. He was carrying his suit jacket, but had on the white shirt & pink tie. As I tried to turn on my phone in enough time to snag a pic, he walked past, so I yelled out "KEITH!" and he kinda stood upright, looking mildly surprised, turned, smiled & waved as he continued on to the backstage area. Alas, I could not get a pic, but at least I showed my support.

During the show, he was on for 7 minutes (I timed it). But watching the show tonight, it did seem short. I will have to check the video to see how much they edited out.

I live in the area, and the only reason I tried to get tix was cos of KO. It was totally worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in the area, so generally, Letterman is reserved for friends in from out of town.

I decided to call in at the last minute this morning, and was put at the top of the standby list. If I'd been able, i'd have asked him to sign my copy of his book, but seeing him was enough satisfaction for me. It deserves to be said, he's as striking in person as he is on screen, if not moreso!
