Will you get the gift you really want this holiday season?

Although my family means well, they pretty much suck at gift giving.
Each year I pretend that their gifts are exactly what I never knew I wanted or needed, but I would be happier if I bought myself presents and claimed they were from Santa.
I'm not talking about lack of funds issues here, just sucky gifts in general... and my gift desires aren't extravagant, either.

This year I want a new dog (my 13 year old bichon passed away in August). Don't think I'm gonna get a dog, though. There are several wrapped gifts under the tree for me, which are obviously not canine-related (plus no dog amount of $ is missing from the checking account).


So my question to you, dear DUfriends:

Will you get what you really want this holiday season? If not, how will you react?

6. I really don't care about gifts.

I'm serious.

As long as I get a genuine hug I don't care about the rest.

And I always DO get some love where it counts.

Anything else is gravy, and I should be on a diet anyways.

7. My family knows what I like and want

but they always tend to give stuff that absolutely sucks!! One year I got a plastic container of mixed nuts. Now they're always after me to loose some weight and they give me fattening food. Don't get me started on my birthday because they take me out to dinner at Olive Garden. Then they tell me a few days later that my clothes are a little tight.

But the things I really want for Christmas cannot be wrapped up & put under the tree.

My family and friends are really good at gift giving. They'll get me things I really want and really like. But I'm not getting the thing I really want. My family can't give it to me.
