I have three pairs- same brand, same style, but three different washes. One pair fits nice & snug. One pair is a little loose, and the other was so loose that I had get a smaller size. They aren't worn in differently; they've been that way since I bought them. ???
It seems to me that the darker the wash is, the larger they fit. Can anyone back up my theory on that?

1. Mine are just the opposite. |

Two pair, same cut, one dark and one washed...and the dark is a little snug and the washed is looser.

since all garment work is subcontracted, those two pairs of jeans with the same manufacturers label may have been cut and assembled on the far side of the planet from each other. It is all about quality control and consistency, which is often rare.

I don't own a single pair. They never fit me right. I used to live in corduroys all year round when I lived in the moutains. Now I just wear cotton leggings-type pants or shorts. I never get cold on my legs so I can wear shorts outside in 20 degree weather and it doesn't bother me as long as I have long sleeves on. Of course where I live now it rarely gets in the single digits so I suppose that it never gets in my 'cold zone'. But I've always felt denim was such an uncomforatable fabric.
I agree about the darker wash ones though, I noticed that when I used to wear them. They seem less densely-threaded for some reason, with more give.

I can't validate your theory about wash, but I've defintely gone into a store and (on purpose) tried on 3 or 4 pairs of the same size pants, because they all fit differently!
