Do you ever wonder how well you're known in this online community? I was curious as to how others view my online personality, political leanings, etc.

Without using the search function, do you know who I am or what I stand for?

You live in the Hampton Roads area and have a beautiful little boy that is about 1 1/2 years old or thereabouts.

I found him up on the kitchen counter a few days ago, and for the life of me I don't know how in the hell he got up there. There was nothing around he could have climbed onto to assist his summiting of the countertop.

But, for the life of me, I don't know what you stand for, etc.

That, my friend, is a complete and utter shame.

You and I might have butted heads, I might have called you a name, I might have seen your point, or I might have congratulated you on an argument well-made. But, regardless of which response I may have had to your posting, I never stopped to find out who you were and why you were saying the things you were. We all get so wrapped up in making a quick and witty comeback, a sharp derision, or a hearty concurrence that we don't stop to realize that the other person we're talking with is a person outside his/her DU profile.

I didn't intend for this thread to become so serious, but for such a self-proclaimed progressive community, we may not actually know that much about the members who compose it.

I'm going to go drink a beer, now...
