I love thrift stores
I've been wanting to get LeftyKid a nicer toy kitchen for a while now. He loves the one he has but it's basicly a plastic hot plate. I was thinking maybe I'd spend the $50-$100 for one of the nice Little Tykes ones for Giftmas. Well today we were at the thrift store and I got a really nice one for $8. :D All I had to do was clean it off a bit with the hose and it's just like new, for about a tenth of the cost.

Now I can get him some nice toy food, kitchenware and pans instead, spend less money and have the kid set up nicely.

PS LeftyKid is making mushroom fajitas for dinner.

This is LeftyKid's old setup:

His new kitchen looks like this:

2. I love thrift stores also.
I have bought brand new and like brand new bluejeans, shirts, pots, pans, and plates.

We have nice one near us, it is like a treasure hunt going in there.

9. Thrift stores are great. Mrs. qnr picked up a beautiful Coach handbag for
a few bucks once. I used to enjoy them more when they carried computers and whatnot. Most don't allow them to be donated anymore though, because they contain toxic materials & they have to pay to have them disposed of.

12. The triplets have a really cool play kitchen...they are almost 6.
And they love it, also as a climbing toy. The boys love it equally to the girl. Of course, their father is executive chef at an upscale restaurant. He has cooked dinner multiple post-game dinners for the Chicago White Sox.

13. They're pretty close to the same age as LK then,
he's 5 1/2. He loves any kind of toy where he can feel grown up, but he really loves kitchen stuff, I think because I love to cook.

14. And kids like to emulate their parents...
But that does not explain why the girl triplet wants to be a princess or a rock star...since her mother is a college professor.

One boy wants to be a chef like his father, the other wants to play for the White Sox.
