Harry dog came home from the doggie hospital tonight

What a week. My dog was sick earlier in the week and then became acutely ill on Thursday night. He had to have an emergency gastropexy for bloat- kind of a big deal at his age of 14. I had to borrow a big chunk of money from a friend, thank goodness someone could help me. The surgery went well, but the next day he started having arrythmias, which is not uncommon.

I let him stay an extra half day so they could monitor his heart- every electrocardiogram was better than the last one. So he's not out of the woods yet, but he is at home, fast asleep on my couch. He will be on meds and getting lots of rest this week.

I am so glad to have him alive, I cherish him. Best birthday present ever.
