A deer bolted in front of traffic on Rt 1 in College Park, MD today... |
|
This was at about 10:45 this morning. The critter ran from a residential area and ran right into traffic, without being hit, bounding over one car before it high-tailed it into the woods in back of businesses on the other side.
I wonder if she knows how freaking lucky she is?

11. It is -- I'm being VERY careful running in the woods |
|
The bucks are literally bonkers right now, and they can be very, very dangerous this time of yesr... in between them and hunters on POSTED land, it's a bit stressful exercising!

6. A friend of mine was en route to a gig when one went through his |
|
windshield.
He's a trumpet player, and was on his way to a performance of an opera, in which he had an important offstage role.
He continued on to his gig with the windshield smashed; and I'm told that he was picking bits of glass from his beard right before he had to play.

I was fine. No airbag release or anything. Car was pretty banged up though. I was wearing a seatbelt.

7. Saw a bunch the other night, just south of the greenbelt metro |
|
They leveled that area for a new shopping center. There were some deer roaming about - no doubt thinking WTF?
A few years ago, there was a delay on the green line, because a deer was in the tunnel near Ga Ave/Petworth - talk about out of place.

It was a wonderful place to get away from it all. We rarely saw another person.
I wonder what stores are going in... We need more check-cashing stores and quickie marts like we need a hole in the head.
