Some asshat just hit my car. |
|
While I was sitting in it.
While it wasn't running.
In my FUCKING DRIVEWAY!!!!
Yep, my mother strikes again. More specifically, she struck my car again. In the middle of the world's worst attempt to make a K-turn.
This is the THIRD time she has hit one of my cars in the driveway. Is that some sort of record?
#1--This in a driveway that was single car width. My brand-fucking new (at the time) Saab was parked behind the Dodge Intrepid. She backed the Dodge Intrepid straight into my car, then came inside and asked me to move my car.
#2--This was in the current driveway. Her Jeep Liberty was parked next to my Saab, several feet away. She somehow managed to back out completely crooked and sideswipe the Saab. She continued on her merry way. My sister's friend witnessed it and told me what happened.
#3--Tonight's incident. Fortunately, my Grand Cherokee is built like a tank, so it didn't leave a noticeable dent. Of course, unlike the Saab, I couldn't give a fuck what my Jeep's body looks like.

1. If she hadn't willed everything to me instead of her silly |
|
daughter who "keeps parking cars in my way so that I have to hit them and I'm tired of it so I'm writing her out of my will and putting you in, Rabrrrrrr", I'd say to go yell at her.
But now I like your mom.
:P

3. I actually adopted a new one when I was 15 or so. |
|
Mostly because my mom was a total drag with her constant informing me that I was going to hell and ruining her life for being gay. The one I "adopted" has never hit my car.

sorry, but I am cracking up. It might be a record. I'm curious how she keeps insurance...is she as bad a driver on the open road as she is in the driveway? I'm afraid she's going to hurt you one day, please be careful.

|
Somehow *knock wood* she only hits my cars...in the driveway...

6. Perhaps it's time she considered public transportation. |
|
Or new glasses. Or a driver's ed refresher course. Or a smaller car. Or a shovel to the back of the head.

7. 1. No public transportation. |
|
2. Somehow doesn't need them. 3. Definitely needs that. 4. The Jeep Liberty actually handles very easily & with a tight turning radius, so short of a Mini Cooper, I'm not sure if another car would help. 5. I have to agree with that.

8. Maybe she should stop trying to back up. |

Install some form of reverse gear lockout or something.

|
Does she ever hit anyone else's car, or are you the only one so privileged?

11. Yikes! Talk about sublimated anger. |
|
Maybe you should buy her a course of treatment with your local shrink. Or buy her a punching bag with your face on it. It would certainly be cheaper than the repair bills.

What, exactly, is her problem? In the mood I'm in, tonight, she should feel really lucky she didn't hit my car! Oh, and, yes, that has to be a record! :pals:

15. She's a really, really shitty driver and totally forgetful. |
|
Throw in some possible subconscious anger, since it's only my car getting hit. Seriously though, I really don't like being in a car when she drives. My sister put it pretty well when she said she doesn't mind riding with me, since I'm a fast, but good driver. Meanwhile, my mom is a fast, but bad driver.

17. No, my dad taught me and they bought me driving lessons, too. |
|
Fortunately, when I was learning to drive, my mom didn't drive. That's a threat to society that cropped up about 5 years ago, after a 20 year reprieve from her.

Do you think she'd get mad if you gave them to her for her birthday? After 20 years of not driving she needs a refresher course.

:yoiks: Your mom sounds exactly like the mom of a friend of ours who lives in CT. She does exactly the same thing---she hit our friend's car not once, not twice, but THREE times. And it was in their driveway. And this guy is the kind that freaks out if somebody breathes on his car funny.

21. Oh haruka! Your mother sounds like mine. |
|
She once annihilated (I'm not kidding) my brother's Cavalier in the driveway with her full sized van and then blamed it on him for parking where he parked every single night of his life thus far. :grr: Moms...

I can't laugh too much, though, as I've managed to both knock a side mirror off of the car by hitting the wall of the garage while backing out, and back into a car parked across the street while backing out, but hey, that's just two driveway incidents on my part, and not three, like your mom. I'm glad it didn't leave any noticeable damage, though.
