63. I tried some this weekend.

I forget the brand, I'll post tomorrow as the packaging is out in the shed. They are thick, like 3/16". They claim a 50% crush. They did crush down pretty good, and when it was running all I could rear was the lash in the solid roller and the engine loading up (new carb is a bit rich). The last set was Mr. Gasket.

Crossing my fingers, but so far I'm impressed.

Guess I need to run the valves. I hate that job.

Need to get some old valve covers and cut off the tops to keep down the oil splash.

Oops... just remembered I need to re-torque the headers, too. I did it once, but they recommend repeated re-torquing.

I set lash with the engine off. I have no deflectors for the roller rockers, and oil will squirt a dozen feet. Found that out the hard way. With the engine good & hot, setting the rockers static is accurate. With the Ford firing order I need only turn the crank to three postitions to get all of the rockers.

BTW, here is how it is at my house right now. I am in the process of rebuilding the engine for the little truck. But the wagon developed a serious oil leak. I pulled the engine to replace all of the seals, the timing set and the water pump since it's close to 100k miles. Man, there are a lot of connectors, hoses and tubes!
