How often do you wash your hair?

Assuming you have hair? :P (Yeah, I'm tired and I'm getting weird tonight... :rofl:) I wash mine 2 to 3 times a week. About four years ago, my hairdresser read me the Riot Act for washing my hair too often. Since I cut back on the number of times I wash it, my hair has looked much better. And I'm not sure what's responsible for this phenomenon, but second-day and third-day hair look better on me than just-washed hair. :shrug: I'm not complaining, but it's just strange. :P

usually once a day....sometimes two times a day....if i am really dirty, three times a day.

yeah, 2-3x a week, maybe. It doesn't get very dirty, as there isn't much of it to get dirty :)

2-3 times a week. Right after I wash it, it's too wild...usually the next day is 'optimum hair'.

I just use a very good shampoo for normal/oily hair and it works wonderfully......

Recently I had to wait four days to wash it (after my day surgery), and you could have run the car off the oil! :puke:

5. I have long hair...

that is thin and fine and I have to wash it every day. I can't sleep on it and not wash it the next morning and be presentable in public. I'm not fully human in the morning until my hair is clean. And it's definitely how you can tell if I'm really sick...if I don't bother to wash my hair.

I am not fit for interaction with humans until I've washed my hair and shaved - people know instantly that I'm ill if I don't.

and me too. If I wash it at night it has body the next day but not if I wash it in the morning. I wash it every day, I can't stand not to. I only brush it out a couple of times a week, but that's a different story.

And, that was not good for my hair. I started coloring it a few years ago, and it tends to break a lot. The washing, blow drying, etc. make it worse. Yet, I can't stand not washing it often. Skipping even one day is hard for me; it just feels greasy. :(

it's like even when I condition, freshly washed hair still seems too dry (I have fine though thick hair)

by second day, my hair seems to look fine. Though that's the time I usually wash it again (like you I wash 2-3 times a week)

I think it does dry out the hair (especially the ones on the sides and back of my head) too much, but if I skip my scalp and the hair on top will get too oily. I don't know if this is just because I'm still fairly young (23) and was "blessed" with oily skin, or if I will always be stuck with this type of skin. I've been growing my hair out, and I don't like how "big" it gets when it's too clean, but I guess it's preferable to the limp and oily way it looks by the end of the second day if I skip a day. I pretty much wear a cap all the time anyway. I'm planning on trying out a separate conditioner to see if it will calm my hair down any better than the 2-in-1 I've been using but I'm not really expecting much of a difference.

It's really short and I use a heavy leave-in cream conditioner on it so it really needs daily washing. Once it grows out some I may need to go every-other day though.
