Got screwed again on my paycheck

The payroll company has once again taken out more NY State taxes and NYC city taxes (I don't live in NY; I live in NJ). I am so sick of this; this is the second time. It's not like I can ask for NYC city taxes back (of course, I can for NY State taxes, but even that bites).

1. Ok, it wasn't what I had in my mind when I saw the subject but...

That sucks. And of course if you somehow don't pay 20 cents on a tax, they would be knocking down your doors.

2. We recently merged

with some other law firm in another state and it's been nothing but a nightmare on so many levels... this just tops the cake, especially considering it is a $150 difference.

Now I have to wait until Monday to talk to the company accountant who is on vacation (he always seems to be on vacation).

5. Seems like the payroll company's problem.

They owe you for anything they wrongfully deducted. If they want to get that money back from the city, it sounds like it should be their problem.
