I get really confused in certain situations about who is in the right and I can get disoriented and fall for deception. It blows.

I am not consistent with the 'taking shit' thing. Sometimes none, sometimes way too much.

It's not really that I'm incapable of standing up for myself though. It's just that I don't want to. I've always figured that if it made them happy, then whatever. Part of is that I like to see people happy, and I also prefer to be liked by people (naive and unreasonable I know, but I still do). I generally just don't have the energy, nor motivation to give it back to them.

9. I will take it until I reach my breaking point

Literally. I will put up with shit for decades from the same people over and over and over. When I reach my tolerable limit I will politely tell them they have stepped over the line for the last time and if they persist they may never see me again. I will repeat it a second time if there is a reoccurance. If there is a third time I will mention in an offhand way that I have reached my limit and I will follow through. If there is a fourth time, I permanently sever the relationship.

Once I realize that shit is intentional and not caused by ignorance, my tolerance level wears extremely thin.
