World's Most Unlikely Slow Dance Song
C'mon. You know you want to post on this one. What's the most unlikely slow dance song? The only example I can come up with at the moment is J. Geils Band's "Love Stinks". The slow dance song at my senior prom was "Free Bird".

Helllp meeeee! I need a few truly heinous suggestions.

3. Okay, that's funny!
When I was younger, one of my friends used to drag me to the dances at the Mormon stake by where we both lived. There were chaperones looking for those "double clutching" on the dance floor.

I'll bet there's a lot of "double clutching" to the "Star Spangled Banner" ;-)...

aaaaahhh!!
It gives me goosebumps and not in a good way.

I prefer Pat Benatar's version alot better, it's more listenable.

5. I don't know but this reminded me of the worst wedding song I ever heard
A friend of mine had the band play "I Will Survive" at her reception. You know, the one that says -

Go on now, go
Walk out the door
Don't hang around now
You're not welcome anymore

:wtf:

Strangest song I EVER heard at a wedding.

6. "Killing in the Name" - Rage Against the Machine
It could be quite...er... challenging to establish a romantic mood in the face of these lyrics:

----------------------------

Killing in the name of!
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Huh!

Killing in the name of!
Killing in the name of

And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
But now you do what they told ya
Well now you do what they told ya

Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites

Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Uggh!

Killing in the name of!
Killing in the name of

And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control (7 times)
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya!

Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Come on!

Yeah! Come on!

Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!
Motherfucker!
Uggh!

"Dead Babies," "Sick Things," "I Love the Dead," "Killer," "Hello Hooray"...

11. Patti Smith - We Three
(Every Sunday I will go down to the bar
and leave him the guitar.)

You say you want me.
I want another.
Say you dream of me.
Dream of your brother.
Oh, the stars shine so suspiciously
for we three.

You said when you were with me that nothing made you high.
We drank all night together and you began to cry so recklessly.
Baby, please, don't take my hope away from me.

You say you want me.
I want another, baby.
You say you wish for me.
Wish for your brother.
Oh, the dice roll so deceptively
for we three.

It was just another Saturday
and everything was in the key of A.
And I lit a cigarette for your brother.
And he turned and heard me say so desperately,
"Baby, please, don't take my hope away from me."

You say you want me.
I want another.
You say you pray for me.
Pray for your brother.
Oh, the way that I see him is the way I see myself.
So please stand back now and let time tell you.
Oh, can't you see that time is the key that will unlock the destiny
of we three?

Every night on separate stars, before we go to sleep, we pray so breathlessly.
Baby, please, don't take my hope away from me.
