Should DU institute a draft?
Is this all volunteer "mercenary" army of mods working out, or should DU start drafting people?

1. No
I wouldn't call the mods a "mercenary army". I think they are doing a great job. It's a thankless one, too. Perhaps, you should volunteer and then give us a full report on the kind of "fan mail" you receive. I've never been a mod here, but I once tried it on a political forum...I only lasted a short while. I still cannot believe the things people got upset about.

3. No, it's probably me
I get a little overly defensive of the mods...having been there. Sorry I didn't catch the joke. Maybe one of these guys would help me next time: :sarcasm:

4. But with a draft, wouldn't that just enable the admins to increase
the size of the mod army, since they'd have an endless pool of cannon fodder to draw on. With a bigger army, they could expand the program of oppression by attacking/invading other sites, like iran.org or northkorea.edu...

I think a draft would give too much power to a corrupt regime, personally...
