Man! There's some kind of armed standoff in my neighborhood with the cops. |
|
In the house right around the corner, there is some kind of domestic dispute; probably involving an armed perp, there is a barricade of police cars athwart the street, cops with flashlights and shotguns, tracking dogs and a helicopter.
My wife and I have pulled the blinds, locked the doors and are staying away from the windows. Tried to access real-time police feed on-line but so far, no luck.
Somebody must have gone Dick Cheney on his family.

1. Jeez, that sounds intense. |

I hope this sort of thing doesn't happen very often in your neighborhood. Be safe, it sounds like you're doing the right thing so far.

2. Our neighborhood is the nearest thing to rural. |
|
Suburban, with nice new homes and all, but with cow pastures across the street and farm fields nearby. Quiet, with nice neighbors and well-kept houses.
This is bizarre and VERY uncharacteristic.

3. We Used To Have The Domestic |
|
situation down the street from us ALL the time. Same thing that you have described but on a weekly basis. The husband was finally sent to jail for drug charges and the house was put up for sale. I felt so sorry for that woman. She would be walking the street crying with her kids at 2 am trying to find someone that would call the police. Which we did and so did my in-laws. Tragic and heartbreaking to witness and even more so when you are in the middle of it. I hope that whatever the situation is that it can be worked out without loss of life and that the person being abused can find help soon so they can recover.
