I cant pass Barnes and Noble without stopping there and leaving with 2 or 3 books.
I just picked up
Iraq Confidential: The Untold Story of the Intelligence Conspiracy to Undermine the UN and Overthrow Saddam Hussein by Scott Ritter, Seymour Hersh (Foreword)
and
The Assassins Gate by George Packer
I just finished 1776, Im in the middle of State of Denial, I picked up some Chomsky and John Adams last week.
When the hell am I going to find the time to read all this?

1. Heh, I know the feeling... |
|
...except I'm a library junkie, since I have to be a little careful of my spending impulses. Though if I borrow a book and it's something I'm likely to refer to again and again, I'll later go and buy it. Right now, most of my books are packed away, which is a very unpleasant matter for me - but I did come home with a whole new stack of library books this evening. :)

2. I doubt if you're alone in that on this board |
|
I have three huge bookshelves (floor to ceiling) downstairs filled with books. I've probably read about half of them - I go to the library weekly as well and pick up 8 or 10 books. And I tend to read 3 or 4 at a time.
I bring a book with me everywhere. If I have to wait somewhere even for 5 minutes, I'll open a book and read a paragraph. I love books.

3. There are worse things to be addicted to. |
|
I'd be quite content to live out my life in a Borders or B&N. :)

12. Whatever you do, DO NOT click over to the book forums, fiction |
|
and non-fiction! Also, stay away from the science fiction forum, not to mention the fantasy literature or American history forums! These are bad people who will tempt you to go out and search for more books!

14. For every book I read, I buy three. And I read a hell of a lot of books. |
|
So that tells you what my library looks like.

15. I tried a support group |
|
but it turned into a book club :)
My son and I visited the Adams' museum today and part of the tour was the Presidential library. A smallish stone house filled with many of John and John Quincy's books. It is filled floor to ceiling. I turned to my son "I need to build one of these behind our house."

In the past month I've purchased at least 7 books from B&N and ordered another 7 from the History Book Club. If I didn't have such a limited income I'd need an entire house just for all of the books I'd be buying.
