for THESE are the BEST!

11/2 cup ketchup
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup bbq sauce
2 tablespoons dried onion
1/2 cup burbon (more to taste - i usually put a little more in half way through cooking)
18oz bag italian meatballs thawed

Combine all ingredients except meatballs in cooker and stir
Add meatballs
Cover and cook for 2 hours on high
Serve

ENJOY!!

3. i guess any meatballs will do
we get the frozen Italian meatballs up here.

anyhoo the alcohol probably doesn't cook ALL THE WAY off as this is a crockpot but it isn't like you get drunk off of these or anything.

i suppose if you work in a rehab center someone else might have a better recipe (but ever since I started making these they are requested at EVERY party)

5. stick to the 1/2 cup - then no
might even up the bbq sauce a bit.

the burbon simply adds flavor and tendorizes. it is WONDERFUL with the brown sugar. its an enhancement ingredient.

they really are NOT the same (or as good) without the booze.
