Can you imagine the scars this is going to leave, loosing her father, being the one that caused it, and having to deal the survivor's guilt?
It's horrible that he's gone, but his suffering at least is over. She's going to be suffering for a very long time.
I hope the family is forgiving and supportive. She's going to need it.

The minister at the church my parents go to was paralyzed in a car accident while he was teaching his son to drive.
The family dealt with it remarkably well, but I still can't imagine how they convinced that kid to ever get behind the wheel of a car again.
