I never used that scented stuff, anyway. Too much crap in them.
If I want a great smell in my place, I'll bake something, or put some coffee on (though I don't drink it, just love the smell :silly: ).

I don't like chemicals.
The irritate me and make me sneeze. I might use a scented candle or incense if I want a scent in the air, usually I just open a door if it's not too cold outside.

Frankincense, or a combination I have of Frankincese and myrrh.
I had a bird for so many years, so I couldn't use it. Now that he's gone, I should start using it again...:hi:

Gives me a headache every time. Generally, I think you need to be careful with scents. You get used to them so you don't realize that visitors are being knocked over by them.
I do admit to using the occasional scented candle when I think there's a kitty litter smell in the house. Floral, usually, although Yankee candles makes one called Christmas Wreath that smells just like a Christmas tree. I like that one around Christmas.

:hi: I have two scented candles---one is vanilla, and the other is caramel. I use them on the rare occasion that I want a candle burning. But regular "comfort food" smells like coffee and cookies are hard to beat. :D

I could ever get a caramel-scented candle - I'd be too tempted to eat it. :P

2. I use a lavender spray in the bedroom but a good one, not Glade |
|
I also put the lavender water in my steam iron when I iron cotton pillow shams. I also spray my sheets. Lavender water is an old world room scenter. You can also put lavender in a little dish as potpourri. It is nice, delicate and conducive to sleep.

5. Lavender for me as well |
|
I also spray it on my sheets for sleeping. I don't iron with it but I keep lavender sprigs in my linen closet.

10. I used some of the natural orange citrus spray when we were in Orlando. |
|
That's kind of traditional in that part of the State of Florida.
Here in Oregon, I burn fruit scented candles when I have a chance.
Tonight, it's dark at 5:30 PM, so I think I'll light a couple of candles when I go upstairs.
Thanks for your post.

I break up a cinnamon stick and simmer it in a pot of water for a few hours. Since the extractor fan in my kitchen is a cheap piece of shit, I have to do something to get rid of cooking odours and cinnamon works nicely.

12. I have 2 Yankee Candles plugin air fresheners going. |
|
Both have Pumpkin Spice in them. I like Autumn Leaves and their pine scented products too. I don't really have a favortie. I like to change them up when they run out of oil.

but the hazelnut creme, and banana nut bread candles I have are...freakin awesome...when they are lit, it almost smells like someone is cooking cake...seriously.
A few months back on was online(DU of course) and my wife was in the kitchen, and she lit the banana nut bread candle...I was pretty hungry, and then I smelled, what I thought was a cake baking...I ask my wife, what are you cooking, its making me hungry...she replies "nothing, why?"
I was stunned...the candle tricked me, and no cake...:( A sad day at petersond's house...

my main one is nag champa incense. can't beat it, it's a classic! after that one is padmini incense, in the blue package...mmmmmm!
i also go mainstream with bath and body works wallflowers. i've tried quite a few of them and am currently using the passion fruit one. coconut lime is good too, that is, if you like the fruity scents. i have mine by the front door, so that when you open the door, the fragrance gets you right away. i'm very "scentsual". ;)
