Anybody watch "Cracker" last night? |
|
If you're not familiar, it's a BBC show about an asshole criminal psychologist who extracts confessions out of suspects by sympathizing with them. They stopped making episodes a while ago because they'd run out of idea. Anyway, there was a new episode last night because the writers found a new direction they wanted to explore.
It was about a serial killer targetting Americans.
It's probably the closest TV has gotten to show what a lot of people actually think about Americans these days, IMO.

paid for with American dollars."
Some clearly pointed commentary about the US and terrorism, in the context of the Brits and the IRA.
Didja know that in the UK the movie was titled "Cracker: 9/11"? True story.

The US imitation wasn't nearly as good.
Unfortunately, I've cancelled digital cable and no longer get BBC America. I'll have to wait till it comes out on DVD.
