LTTE, re: campaign website
Here is a letter to the editor that I just sent to the Dallas Morning News and Fort Worth Star Telegram about something posted here last week. I would appreciate your comments (as long as they are overly complementary and praise my writing style and insightfulness- otherwise you can go straight to .... just kidding :) )

Dear Editor,

While perusing the blogs last week I came across several references to the campaign website of Kay Granger, Republican Congressperson, as being one of the worst political websites. Since you endorsed Kay for reelection, I thought you (and Mothers Against Drunk Driving) might be interested in the “Cooking With Kay” section on that site which features recipes “from friends.”

Under the beverages section, we find “Coffee Liqueur” calling for a pint of pure grain alcohol. Or you might be interested in the “Easy Killer Margaritas” which contains both tequila AND beer. Yes, these recipes are both there on her website for all to read.

While some might find this perversely amusing, I am personally insulted that a member of Congress would allow this on her campaign website. Thank goodness it wasn’t in the kids section!

This appeared on numerous blogs, including one sponsored by the -- Houston Chronicle -- several days ago and the website has not changed yet. Perhaps she and her web people don’t keep up with the blogs (like every other political consultant in the country). Perhaps they are just too drunk to get a clue.

People like this don’t deserve to be on the road … much less in Congress.

Have a nice day! (the recipe is right there under beverages)

1. I think I remember Haruka posting a few of Kay's recipes.
If nothing else, it was bizarre as hell. I guess the idea is to connect with the "common people". That's you and me, friend! :P
