You don't let'em hit you in the head. Nothing like being knocked senseless, or knocked the fuck out. You can't learn striking and not learn the ability to take a good head shot.

Boxing is great exercise, wonderful for you timing. Beware though it's very tough. Everything you ever thought you knew about how to move around has too change.

My old record for boxing is 56-5-2 as an amateur.

You could try, but it wouldn't work. I've dealt with girls yelling Xena cries directly into my ear. Those are the most annoying people to spar ever.

with each taking turns holding sofe cushions in front of us while the other punched.

I knew one guy who was a music teacher who used to coach boxing in high school in Wisconsin. Wisconsin quit doing HS boxing though. Too many kids were getting killed.

I go to a real boxing gym, which was a tad bit intimidating at first. Alot of the guys are "stereotypical," but the owner/trainer runs a tight ship re: certain language, etc., so it's cool.
