1. For me it's not the caffeine, it's the withdrawl symptoms that are hell

If I stop driking my usual chai or iced tea or dr. pepper, and try to go a day or two without it, I get a bad headache in the back of my head right above my neck. It goes away after a day or two, and then I am "free" from the caffeine addiction, but if I start drinking the tea again it will come back.

I am a slave to cafeine because of it.

Then I am free and non-addicted... but the lure of Big Train Spiced Chai keeps me coming back and I am back at square one.

I'd say at my worst, I have done 10 cups in a day. I have reflux, and I am not supposed to drink coffee. I quit, for a few weeks, headaches set in, back to it, at about 2 cups a day.
