When you're driving down the road and come up with the PERFECT idea for a Christmas present, and you even plan on ordering it as soon as you get to the office . . . but somehow it slips your mind by the time you get there, and the idea is gone. . . .

sigh . . . back to the drawing board.

Decades ago when he was doing stand-up Bill Cosby had a routine where he proved that one's brain is in one's butt using a similar story. The set-up was sitting in the living room and getting the idea to go fix himself a cool drink in the kitchen but by the time he gets there he forgets..

It's called age. I find myself forgetting lots of stuff lately. I'm only 45, but I'm convinced that I'm in the (very) early stages of dementia.

3. note to self

make sure I put one of those portable tape recorders on my Clausmas list. One of those would be great for recording the ideas I get while driving before I fu$%ing forget them.
