Remember Prime Minister Poutine of Canada?
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 01:21 PM by hedgehog
Back during the 2000 election, the crew from the TV show This Hour Has 30 Minutes managed to corner Bush and ask him his opinion on a pronouncement by Prime Minister Poutine of Canada. Bush answered at length, not realizing that Jean Chretien was the Prime Minister and poutine is a pea soup favored in Quebec!

1. Poutine is in fact fries slathered in gravy and cheese curds.
Whatever it is though, it would make a better PM than Harper.

2. Oh yes it is.
Poutine (at least phonetically) is also the President of Russia. :D

3. Pea Soup?
Not quite my friend. Poutine is an order of fries covered with gravy and cheese. It usually has the viscosity of motor oil and is more popularly known as "heart attack in a bowl".

5. It's "This Hour Has 22 Minutes".
That would be Rick Mercer with his "Talking to Americans" schtick. It's more depressing than funny, really.

6. I live in upstate New York and I have to admit that I don't follow
Canadian politics very well. It's shameful, but I guess it's human nature to neglect trustworthy friends.
