But bands like Yes? Close to the Edge was their last good one, and that was #4.

VanHalen? Stopped at 4 too.

Pink Floyd pretty much jumped the shark after Animals. Sure, The Wall mezmorized us when we were 15 - but most of The Wall is filler.

Gaucho wasn't BAD, but it lacked the sincere cynicism of The Royal Scam, the shocking imagery of Aja, the pop brilliance of Pretzel Logic, the grooving jams of Countdown to Ecstasy.

And the two albums from this century aren't bad, either; they just lack the original brilliance of the 'Dan from about '72 to '77.
