"The Look of Love" - who should remake this classic?
That is if you like remakes...

I nominate Fiona Apple

4. Nobody. Remakes lack creativity.
Or I have yet to hear a remake that outdoes the original.

5. Disagree. The Byrds' "Mr. Tamborine Man" is better than Dylan's
Cake's "Sad Songs & Waltzes" is better than Willie Nelson's
(but I'll admit personal preference on that one).

I could go on....but I'll give you this much: the original is USUALLY better than a remake.

7. nonsense
there's nothing special about the original version of anything. Especially if by original, you mean the version actually sung by the songwriter (the whole singer/songwriter thing didn't really become an issue until the 60s). For example, every Bob dylan song has been remade by a better singer or guitarist at some point. I'm not saying dylan isn't talented, just that his talent lies in composition more so than in performance.

20. I love the Mavericks' version of Cat Stevens' "Here Comes My Baby"
Made a hit by the Tremeloes in 1967, outdone by the Mavericks in the 90s.

9. It's been remade a bunch of times already
I personally have versions by Isaac Hayes, J-88, Jon Lucien, The Platinum Pied Pipers, Soul Bossa Trio, Slum Village as well as the Dusty Springfield cut.

More out there, babY!

Marilyn Manson might do an interesting version. Though not a particularly comforting one.
