Cold but sunny. And I slept more than five hours so I feel fantastic. It's Friday and I'm getting out tonight!!!!!

It's freezing here and I caught the kids' colds, but I don't care because I'm going shopping. And we have friends staying with us this weekend.

2. We have about thirty-nine degrees here.

My kids have had a cold since school started! and I have about one day a week when I don't wake stuffed up and headachey. Today's the day. :)

3. Got up early here (5 AM)

It's going to be a great day, and pretty CA weather to boot.

Knee is doing so much better...swelling down, walking OK...looks like 24 hours of ice, wrapped compresion elevation and rest did wonders for me.

Am going to have my first full day of staying home in my new place and actually getting things done and more in place. (That was the plan for the day after Halloween, but the sidewalk trip and fall ate that day...)

say you did to your knee, exactly? I'm happy to hear you can get around. And I envy you your new place!

10. LOL It's only 6 AM right now here in CA...only up an hour so far

No doc. Tried to see an orthopedist, (called them at 8:30 AM Wed.) They wouldn't see me with out a referral even though I am cash pay/no insurance. So called primary doc, (at 8:45 AM Wed.) They promised to call back for a referral. They didn't call back, so I called them three more times. Finally, at 3PM, someone said that they would have to see me since they ahd never seen me for my knee even though it's in my file history about knee surgery in '92 from another doc in another state. My primary doc is really just a local comprehensive care clinic here since I only moved back here over a year ago.

When I got up on Thursday, swelling was way down, knee was functional, and am doing even better today. So, on Thurs. AM cancelled app't with the primary doc, and plan on getting a private care doc soon. The comp. care people are assholes and i have never really liked them, and only went to them originally to renew my hormone Rx after moving here.

So, to answer your question...
No doc seen, don't think I need it, and damn but the ortho surgeon in carson City did a fine job of repairing my blown out knee back in '92. Am intact and doing well! :hi:

I've been calling a specialist I'm seeing since late last week. I keep leaving messages but there's no response. Medicine isn'tt what it once was.

I have been getting SLAMMED at work lately, the wicked overseers
breathing down our necks, demanding RESULTS in a DOWNWARD SPIRALING
ECONOMY. I feel ELATED just to be typing without pressure to produce!

Tomorrow, I will party in a german beer hall with many loutish people
given to throwing back "JagerBombs" in a joint birthday celebration with
friends, but today, I'M HANGING LOOSE!

For the record, it's also a gorgeous day here in Alexandria, Egypt. I was down on the beach earler, making sure the Mediterranean didn't move overnight or anything. The only clouds in the sky are big puffy white ones, and the sea is an amazing emerald green near the shore, fading to deep blue out near the horizon...where it also "tints" the horizon the same incredible shade of blue.

While I was hanging around, an Egyptian family brought their (very) little boy and girl down to the beach. It was obviously the first time the kids had been that close to the sea, so I had fun watching their reactions as the waves "chased" them, etc.

Then I went up to the hotel bar, which overlooks the beach...it almost overHANGS the beach. Had a beer and watched the waves some more. Went down and bought a roast chicken dinner from a street stall, and wandered around the streets while it was cooking, letting Egyptian schoolkids practice their English on me.

All in all, a fine day.
