Lakers, baby

2-0 right out of the gate, against two vaunted teams. No Kobe, no Odom... no problem!

1. I'd rather have a raging case of the Bubonic Plague than be a Laker Fan

5. I've been a Laker fan for over 40 years
TRUST ME.. real Laker fans couldn't care less what the haters think. I find it quite amusing so many people hate them. Tradition and great success against other teams will do that to their fans.

7. I never said I hated the Lakers
Just felt if I had to choose between the Lakers and a Raging case of Bubonic plague - the Plague wins everytime!

8. Me too. They are just one of those teams I could never like.
I don't know why either. I feel the same about the Yankees and the Packers. :puke:
I also think bragging about a 2-0 record is comical, when there are like 80 more games to play!

yes, it's early the but excitement is because they are better than they've been in a few years and are playing well without their star. For the diehard fans it's a welcome change.

No problem on not liking the Lakers - it keeps us amused.

10. Maybe it's bitterness towards Phil Jackson that makes me hate them so much.
I really used to like him. Then he left the Bulls to retire. Then took the Lakers job and left his wife for the Lakers owners daughter. Pond scum.

14. Maybe his wife was a horrid bitch
There are 2 sides to every story.

The organization is bigger than one person. Their history is bigger than one transgression.

I have loved the Lakers since Magic was a rookie. I will love them long after Kobe is a footnote in the history of jurisprudence.

It's SHOWTIME!

17. Hi Zombywoof.
I'm with you. I've been a Laker fan since - let's see- oh yeah,
before Lew Alcindor became Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

They've had their ups and downs, like any team.
But this is really great to see them ahead without
Kobe. It must be a hell of a self-esteem booster for the team.

Go Lakers!!

;-)

I am in Blazer land and I have lost all basketball cheer.....

4. I prefer him over Shaq
It's a given most jocks are pompous, but Shaq has an ego which can swallow the galaxy whole, if unchecked.

6. that's why it's so good right now
the group that's winning now is doing it without Kobe.. hopefully that will send Kobe a message he's not the end all there.

12. I'm not sure.. it shouldn't be too much longer.
I have a love/hate thing with Kobe.

I really think the guys playing now will be great with a bit more experience. It shows teams can win without a dominant force when they play as a team.
