Why are YOU in on a Friday night, on DU?
As for me, I went out to dinner to meet a friend's parents, I let another friend come to my place and do his laundry, and now I am doing my laundry while watching the shit that is "20/20" and perusing DU.

The older I get, the more myself I am and the less need I feel to do things just because they're expected. I like staying in and reading. I like hanging out with you (smart, funny) guys. I like not dropping $30 and waking up with a splitting headache. I like being alone.

Plus, at 27, honestly, I am feeling a bit old for the whole "going out" scene. It bores me.

Et toi?

8. Because it's colder than a Republican's heart outside tonight.
If I had a fireplace, I'd be toasting my toes by it. I don't though, so my toes are looking more and more like marshmallows to me and I'm considering one of my "candlelit marshmallow roasts." I sometimes take toothpicks and mini marshmallows and toast them over a candle for fun. My toes are cold. I'm cold. It's cold cold cold.

Although I'm a bit older. It's been a long week and I just need to chill. I just came back from Costco with a rotisserie chicken and Bill Bryson's new book. I plan to devour both this weekend between doggie walks and naps.

12. You kinda answered for me.
I'm at the age where peace and quiet on the weekends is a good time to me. i have kids, school, and, classes at the gym. On weekends the kids go off visiting friends and relatives and the ladies and i sit home and groove.

Nothing like some decent wine and a few good poofs of good grass to relax. Also this close to election i am also so on edge, if i went out it could go bad.

We did go out and have dinner tonight though, i got out of cooking yay!

22. Sick. Roommate bought me pizza. Plus, I had to decompress after leaving
an overcrowded campaign office tonight before I (literally) puked and gave in to a strong urge to strangle one of the slimy, fuckwad, do-nothing "volunteers" or "interns" there.

27. Let's see:
I'm two years older than you are, and I was pretty well bored of the whole "going out" thing before I was your age; I'm fairly introverted, anyway, so it was never all that much fun. I like being alone, too. I find the company of extroverts physically exhausting. And I don't really drink anymore, either (maybe once a month, if that often). All of which makes going out to a bar or club rather pointless.

28. My bike has a flat..
And the last bus leaves downtown at 10:40. And it isn't worth going out if I would have to catch the bus home at 10:40.. I usually leave home later than that.. I will simply fuck around with Illustrator all night... And drink beer.

32. 27 ... old?

<sigh>

Okay then.

I'm home on a Friday night because I have already killed my lifetime allotment of brain cells, have purposely declared a life of abstinence, and have a cat who demands attention after I've been at work all week.

Plus I have this new keyboard where I can actually see the letters, and I'm trying to determine if my spelling improves as a result. :-)

33. I was out grocery shopping.
Saw a person for which there was mutual "jiggy" interest, and even as thick as I am could sense it, but the usual factors kept me from initiating a conversation.

What else is new.

35. Yes, I know 27 is not "old"
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 12:04 PM by StellaBlue
... but it's too old for serious clubbing, IMHO. It's so ...boring. You just have to suffer shallow youngsters in the crowd who still cares what's hip... I'm talking the 21-year-olds here... I lived in the UK for four years, so I have had my fill of drinking, thankyouverymuch. I have also put on a good 15 pounds since I was in my prime and do not have the body nor the desire to dress like a whore and parade myself down the street. It's all just too much work, only to end up tired by 11, pissed off by the loud music and overpriced drinks (thank god it's no-smoking here!), tired of some of my friends' whining and overanalyzing about boring guys, and desperately wanting to be home watching Craig Ferguson and drinking chocolate milk instead. :)

And, also, I work 5-9am and 1-5pm everday, so I am usually pretty wacked out, inner-clock-wise.

I am more into the pub scene, with beer or wine and politics talk with cozy friends, than the bar/club scene, with whores, guys who think sportscars = success and use insults as pick-up lines, and $6 beers.

edited for spelling typo
