I got a special bonus at work $$$
My company has a special program that allows people to award other people with either money or gift certificates based upon performance.

in the past...I have gotten them but it has always been for around $50 in value.

However I have been doing a lot of extra work (beyond the normal stuff)..and I got an award that is for an amount that left me shocked...

If anything I am just so happy that someone has recognized my work...

1. that;s really cool. congratulatioins on that!
it's not often one gets rewarded for doing well (unless you consider more work a reward), but that's really cool sounds like you work for a decent company.

2. I work for a rather large corporation
but they have a program that allows people to nominate other people for awards...
if your supervisor approves...you get the award ( the money for the award comes from the supervisor's budget)...
I am just surprised because I was not expecting to be compensated...

It's good to be recognized for a job well done, even better to be compensated for it. :toast:

6. actually anyone can award anyone...
so if one of your coworkers helped you out so much and made a difference...you can give them an award..(of course approved by the supervisor).

I have given them to people outside my department who went the extra mile to help me out...I first send the supervisor an email and then wait to make sure that the supervisor approves of the amount I wish to award.
