12. Yep: Gregory Peck, James Earl Jones, and Sean Connery |
|
There's a common quality there, too.
On the female side.....hmmm.....I don't know.
Diana Rigg just jumped to mind, but that's not my final answer. And there's always the breathy type, like Marilyn or Ann Margret.....mm-mm good.

Peter Lorre (one-of-a-kind) Orson Welles (of course) Robert Mitchum (best "yeah...whatever, man" cool voice) Geoffrey Holder (intoxicating) Franklin Pangborne (always cracks me up) Alfre Woodard (beautiful voice) Zazu Pitts (always cracks me up) John Vernon (most chilling voice- raindrops on a gravestone)

Ooh, that voice. Mmm.
That said, there's always Derek Jacobi, Simon Callow. Anthony Hopkins only counts when he's not playing horrific murderers.
And I'll second James Earl Jones, too, for that velvety bass. Mmm.
I can't think of any favorite female voices off the top of my head, though I'm sure many will occur to me later.
Also, despite the presence of the British and/or classically trained in the list above, I have a real fondness for New York accents, all boroughs, New Jersey accents, and New England accents. That's why I'll listen to anything Charles Schumer and Barney Frank have to say, and the same goes for certain actors.
And Irish and Welsh accents are perfectly fine with me, too.
