She (I assume it's a she as males are usually darker than females) was dressed to kill and and enjoying a nice fall day looking for a friend with which to fulfill millions of years of evolutionary urges to get funky with another and make the Theraphosa with two cephalothoraxes.

1. What kind is that?

2. It's a tarantula of some type.

Sources say they are harmless, although the bite can be painful it's not poisonous. First live one I have seen around here. They usually come out at night, but it's matin' season!

It was a family event. Then we just left her alone. She hid under some cardboard for a while. Later I noted that she had moved on. I hope she finds another place to stroll tomorrow as I plan to work on the truck out there. I'd hate to be on my back reaching for a wrench and come face to fang with her!
