Cat problem- tail caught in a fly strip and its all sticky.
Ok, Chairman Meow was playing with the window blinds (the metal type) and bending them all up. I went over to make him stop and as I picked the poor guy up he twisted around and got his tail caught up in a fly strip. (I live in the country and we have a LOT of flies due to the cows) Anyway, I got the strip off his tail but its still sticky. The glue isn't poisonous but I suspect its uncomfortable. You can use vegetable oil to remove it from your hands- should I try to use it on his tail?
I can tell he is going to be pissed off at me for quite a while!

1. I'd go ahead and use vegetable oil on the tail, but then wash it...
...very well so your kitty doesn't have to digest all that oil. Then, be sure to give your cat a little treat if you have any. He'll forget about it in a couple of..decades...ha...just kidding!

4. He's just now getting over the "tail in the door" incident.
He is a very impulsive cat. About six months ago he decided that he absolulty had to go outside as I was closing the door with my hands full (used my foot). I hit some resistence and looked down- Cat fur! Poor guy.
His brother, Flea Taxi is a very calm cat that never has any problems like this.

Chairman Meow upper left and Flea taxi.

2. Maybe carefully trim off some of the sticky fur if he'll let you?
Poor kitty!

3. I have a rare blood type- don't know if I can get it replaced!
No, he will not let me trim it off. He's already mad at me for getting it on him so it would be payback time.

7. Any "in case of" suggestions given on the packaging?
Maybe they have an 800 number? Mineral oil maybe? Do you have a cat muzzle, towel to wrap it in, a cat bag, someone to help you? Oh boy, my cat would be absolutely wild.

8. Make sure you get it all.
Fly paper and strips are sources of arsenic.

9. It says no poison on the label.....
But yes, I think I got it all. Chairman meow does NOT like anyone messing with his tail!
